Study-time Oatmeal Cookies

So I love baking cookies, and decided that I wanted to start keeping an official public log (or blog, haha) of my adventures baking varies varieties of them, and other desserts.

So I have been studying a lot for my biology final this next week. I decided it was time for a break today and bake some cookies.

I had never baked these before tonight, so I stuck pretty close to the recipe. The only thing I changed was how many cups of oats needed to be added. Obviously some people might want to add raisins instead of chocolate chips, that is totally fine. Adding some nuts and reducing the amount of chocolate chips would also be fine for this recipe. I only added chocolate chips and kind of regretted it halfway through.

Well, anyway, here is the recipe:

Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups old-fashioned oats
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt together in a small bowl. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter. Add sugar and brown sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla extract. Add to flour mixture to creamed mixture. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
4. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 11-12 minutes.
6. Remove and cool. Eat and enjoy!
